STUDENT SERVICES

We offer a number of services to help students get adjusted to life in the U.S.:

ACADEMIC PLANNING ASSISTANCE

The majority of our students want to attend American universities. The application process can be difficult, so we provide help in three ways. First, students are assigned to an advisor who can answer questions about choosing the right school, filling out the application, meeting deadlines, etc. Second, we maintain a file of area schools' information. Third, a handout detailing the step-by-step process of choosing and applying to both graduate and undergraduate school is available in the student library.

VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT

ESL Instruction encourages students to go out and meet people in Atlanta so they can use their English. To help students make connections, we keep a notebook full of volunteer opportunities in the area. Some recent projects:

A group of four students volunteered to usher at the "Spooky Puppet Horror Show II" at the Center for Puppetry Arts

A group of 7 students volunteered at JapanFest at Stone Mountain

A group of 4 students volunteered at Centennial Olympic Park's "Family Fun Days" teaching children how to make puppets.

A group of 6 students volunteered to pull out non-native plants at the Chattahoochee Nature Center

The school organizes at least one group volunteer project per term, but students can also volunteer as individuals. One staff member helps them find a good match.

INTERNET ACCESS

Students have access to the Internet through the school's Internet connection at any time during the school's regular hours.
